ALYCIA MARIE - or Ally - is a singer-songwriter, artist, and successful beauty stylist. Alycia Marie was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. "I grew up in a musical home and remember my father playing music and singing with me from a very early age," says Alycia Marie. "I loved these moments; they were part of my everyday life. So, I guess I developed a special and a very emotional connection to English-language music."
Alycia Marie began writing her own songs and melodies at the age of six. A fan of girl groups like Spice Girls and No Angels, she decided to put songs online herself when she was 14. "Personally, I'm more of a quiet, introverted and thoughtful person," says Alycia Marie, who has lived in Baden-Baden since she was eight. "As a teenager, I had neither a band nor the necessary self-confidence to perform live, so YouTube was the ideal channel for me and my first musical steps in public."
This was soon followed by her first performances at school, various events and, in 2016, her first tour through eight German cities. In addition to her YouTube music channel with over 60 self-produced music clips and over 275,000 loyal fans, Alycia Marie also has a very successful beauty channel on YouTube. Inspired by song writing talents like Ryan Tedder and confident songwriters like Gabrielle Aplin, Lauren Aquilina and Julia Michaels, Alycia Marie writes sophisticated, emotional and very personal pop songs with depth.
Following her "STARS IN YOUR EYES" EP, the single "WITHOUT ME " now opens the release cycle of her second EP.
"I would probably describe my music best as storytelling. I am most inspired by emotional themes from life, primarily interpersonal relationships, love relationships and related problems. A lot of it is based on my own experiences.
For me, writing is a kind of valve and always a bit of processing my own conflicts and crises. My songs are therefore very intimate and mostly rather melancholic, which also reflects an important part of my being. They reflect my quiet and vulnerable side" says Alycia Marie.
Many of Alycia Marie's loyal and enthusiastic fans find themselves reflected in her lyrics. And that is exactly what Alycia Marie wants: "I would like to give my fans the feeling that they are not alone with their problems, their despair, their despondency and loneliness.”
